CTO Learning Labs Privacy Policy

The Office of Economic Development & International Trade (“OEDIT”) operates the Colorado Tourism Office (“CTO”) and its CTO Learning Labs learning management system (“LMS”). We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, disclose, and use the information we collect about you when you use the LMS. This Privacy Policy applies to all the personally identifiable information we collect from or about you, regardless of its source or medium.

What We Collect

  • Information you provide: When you sign up for our LMS, we collect information about you and your organization (“Organization and Personal Information”) that you voluntarily provide to us. We collect the minimum amount of Organization and Personal Information we need to provide the LMS to you. This information includes:

    • Your first and last name
    • Organization name
    • Organization email address
    • Organization zip code
    • Any other information you provide that could be used to identify you or your organization
    • Any information you share with us by completing optional course surveys
  • Analytics Information: We use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, on the landing page of the LMS. We use analytics tools to collect your IP address and to learn how you reached our site, such as through OEDIT’s home page or from a third-party website.

  • Information about your learning: We also automatically collect information about your use of the LMS (“Learning Information”). This includes:

    • The courses you’ve started and completed
    • Course progress statistics: how much of each course you complete, and the time you spend taking each course

How We Use and Share Your Data

We use your information to support your use of the LMS. We also use your information to track user trends, to administer the LMS, and to prevent abuse of the LMS.

We share your information with our third-party service provider that supports our delivery of the LMS.

Sharing with Destination Partners: We partner with local Colorado cities, counties, tourism industry associations, and other destination organizations (“Destination Partners”) who help us create content for the LMS. We may share your Learning Information with our Destination Partners to help them develop relevant learning content and support your engagement with LMS content.

We may disclose your Organization and Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, court orders or other legal processes, to protect the rights of OEDIT or individuals, or to otherwise resolve disputes. We will not sell or otherwise distribute your Organization and Personal Information without your consent.

Third-Party Websites

Our landing page and/or the LMS may contain links to external websites. When you follow a link to another website this Privacy Policy will no longer apply.

OEDIT is Subject to Open Records Laws

The Colorado Open Records Act (“CORA”) applies to information we collect. Section 24-72-201, C.R.S. requires public records to be open for inspection by the public unless otherwise provided by law.

However, all information becomes a public record once it is provided to us and may be subject to public inspection and copying if not protected by federal or state law.

Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page.
